Meet Alissa Rogers!

Sprious’ new HR Recruiter introduces herself in her own words

Hello!  My name is Alissa Rogers, and I am the HR Recruiter at Sprious. I am lucky enough to work with all of our hiring managers to ensure we are sourcing the best talent for our growing team! I will be developing and maintaining our candidate pipelines, all while building strong relationships with new, current, and future employees.

I was born and raised here in Lincoln, Nebraska, and for now, I plan on staying! I graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in human science and psychology, and from that point I began my career in recruiting nearly 6 years ago. I started hiring for call center positions, and grew into more of a senior role as I took on different industries, including government, construction, communications, technology, and executive. I have dabbled in payroll, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.

Ultimately, I realized that my passion is not just in recruitment and onboarding, but also in developing lasting relationships, employee branding, and promoting a company and culture I am proud to be a part of! This realization came to me after I took a role at a company that didn’t quite see the importance of developing an effective new hire process and choosing the best candidates; it was more of the “just hire someone” mentality. I want to be the gladiator for all candidates and new hires, someone they can trust, rely on, and feel comfortable coming to!

For the last two years of my career, I have been commuting to the Omaha/Bellevue area, so when it came time for me to find my next adventure I had two “musts” in mind: location and relationships. I wanted to find a company in Lincoln, one where I could develop and nurture close relationships with the people I work with and with others in our community. When the posting for this role opened, I did my research and quickly realized that this role was exactly what I had been looking for (and more) in a company. I could not have asked to work for and with such an innovative, energetic, and fun group of people.

My motivators: food, light and fun competition, and constructive criticism. I firmly believe that with those three motivators, I can do anything I set my mind to.

In my spare time, I love reading any kind of horror or mystery novel, and TRAVELING. I thoroughly enjoy getting to see and experience new cultures, foods, and activities. My favorite activity is scuba diving, and I would love to work on attaining my rescue diver and divemaster certification. Some more random facts: I have 3 furr children who take up a majority of my free time (fetch is life), I love to make hot sauces and seasonings, and I could sit and fish for days! Flamingos and narwhals are the BEST animals. Oh, and Harry Potter is life.

I cannot wait to see where this amazing company and its even more amazing team members will go!
