Strategic Content Writer

Sprious is seeking a passionate, responsible, and collaborative Content Writer to strategize and implement email campaigns, blog posts, landing page content, and advertising copy for multiple product lines and subsidiary companies.

The ideal candidate will bring ideas and perspectives that are not represented by our current team. We hope to find someone who can speak directly to our diverse, international customer base. Someone who loves learning and testing new messaging that will help us build relationships with customers.

If you’re looking to be a cog in a corporate machine, look elsewhere. But if you love a challenge and want to create for one of Lincoln’s fastest-growing new technology companies, you’re in the right place.

We offer a competitive salary along with a generous benefits package that includes a 401(k) match and company-paid health insurance, plus voluntary vision & dental. Plus: smoothies, daily meditation, your choice of a sitting or standing desk, a free parking pass at a Haymarket Garage that’s only a stone’s throw from the Pinnacle Bank Arena, and free books! That’s right – request any book through the Sprious Reads program and we will buy it for you. We’d like to see the corporate machine beat THAT.

For the position itself we have some basic requirements (see below), but we are looking first and foremost for a culture and values fit. If you love writing and have the ability to collaborate effectively with a talented team, then come and join us at Sprious!

  • Writing content for emails, blog posts, website landing pages, advertisements, video scripts, social media posts, and more
  • Methodically testing content on landing pages and emails to find messaging that resonates with the largest number of readers

  • Developing a series of email campaigns across our product lines (both automated sequences related to typical customer business activities and direct active marketing to our thousands of customers)
  • Measure and analyze results, ROI and impact

Requirements:

  • Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and the ins and outs of complex technical products
  • Exhibiting a unique voice while writing to style guide requirements
  • Able to write a large volume of content to tight deadlines
  • Data-driven mindset – we hope you will have a “test everything” attitude and be able to assess the effectiveness of content using success metrics (conversion/open rates, traffic, etc.)
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Collaborates well in a team environment by asking thoughtful, probing questions
  • Creative – we want you to bring your own voice and creativity to writing assignments, as we are not seeking boilerplate blogs. We want you to engage the audience.
  • High personal integrity and character
  • Highly organized – in your own special way, whether that is a stack of papers on your desk or an immaculate to-do list. What we mean here is someone who delivers high quality work, on time, and can communicate progress to the rest of the team.
  • Experience with content platforms such as WordPress, Hubspot, and Leadpages is desirable, but not required
  • Experience with SEO and marketing tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, and the Google Marketing suite is desirable, but not required

This is not a remote position – we are seeking a candidate that is able to work in the Lincoln, NE office for this role. However, we are allowing all employees to work from home during the ongoing pandemic.
